Carolina Falls To Bucknell In Spring Opener

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The North Carolina rowing team opened its spring season Saturday against Bucknell, falling to the Bison in all five of the day's races. The teams met at a neutral site, the Rivanna Reservoir in Charlottesville, Va.
In the varsity eight race, Bucknell won in 6:58.24 with UNC finishing in 7:06.20. ucknell's second varsity eight won in a time of 7:04.40, with Carolina finishing in 7:22.98.
In the varsity four race, the Bison finished in 7:48.36 with UNC coming across in 8:14.34.
ucknell's novice eight finished in 7:12.84 with UNC second in 7:26.05. BU's lightweight eight was third in 7:29.95.
The Bison won the second novice eight in 7:44.60, with UNC finishing in 7:52.87.
UNC returns to action on Saturday, racing Georgetown and George Washington in Washington, D.C. Sunday, the Tar Heels travel to Occoquan, Va., to race against George Mason on the Occoquan Reservoir.
