UNC's Billy Bitter Chosen As Nominee For Tewaaraton Award

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of North Carolina sophomore attackman of Stowe, Vt. was named Wednesday as one of 21 nominees for the 2009 Tewaaraton Trophy. The sophomore has had a banner year for the Tar Heels, leading the 9-4 Tar Heels in goals, assists and points through the first 13 games of the season.
The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the 2009 Men's and Women's Nominees for the Tewaaraton trophy Wednesday. Nominees were selected by coaches across all three divisions. These nominees are one step closer in the pursuit of the Tewaaraton Trophy that will be given to one deserving female and male at the 9th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on May 28, 2009.
Bitter has started all 13 games for UNC this season and has 29 goals, 17 assists, 46 points and is also tied for second on the team in ground balls with 45.
