CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - For the second straight year, supporters and fans of the University of North Carolina baseball program will have the opportunity to kick off the upcoming season with a memorable evening at the Diamond Heels' First Pitch Dinner, scheduled for Jan. 30, 2010, at the Carolina Club on the UNC campus.
Tickets for the second-annual event, which sold out last year, are available by contacting Kim Jones with the Rams Club at (919) 843-6433. Individual tickets are $75 and tables of eight seated with a UNC player are available for $600.
Peter Gammons, Major League Baseball analyst and 1969 Carolina graduate, is the featured speaker for the event. Attendees also will have the chance to meet the 2010 Tar Heels, and this year's senior class will preview the upcoming season.
The event will open at 6 p.m. with a social and silent auction followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The program and a live auction will follow dinner. Auction items featured will include autographed memorabilia from the Heels CWS appearances and former Tar Heel Dustin Ackley.
Business attire is requested. Parking will be available in the Rams Head Deck for a fee.
