Women's Golfer Falls Short At North & South Amateur

PINEHURST, N.C. - North Carolina golfer Courtney Gunter did not move past Friday's quarterfinal of the 108th North & South Women's Amateur in match play against Lisa McCloskey.
Gunter, a rising sophomore from Matthews, N.C., squared the match up with four holes to go, but could not overcome the final hole lead to move onto the semis.
McCloskey went on to win the match play bracket on Saturday.
The tournament was hosted by the Pinehurst #2 course in Pinehurst, N.C., which features a a par-72, 6,286-yard lay-out.
