TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -
College Soccer News announced on Tuesday its top 40 recruiting classes for the 2010 season and the North Carolina Tar Heels' group ranked No. 8 in the country. Led by transfer Jalil Anibaba the 10-man class looks set to continue Carolina's string of College Cup appearances.

Elmar Bolowich again gives the Tar Heels a significant boost via the transfer route with the addition of senior defender Jalil Anibaba who comes to Chapel Hill from Santa Clara. Anibaba, who started forty out of forty-one contests at Santa Clara, should help plug the gap that exists in the Tar Heel backline due to the graduation of Zach Loyd and Jordan Graye. C.J. Odenigwe from Richmond, Texas, Anton Sealey from Nassau, The Bahamas and David Walden from Richmond, Va. are other members of the recruiting class that may be able to offer assistance on the defensive side of the ball. Bolowich stated, "I see freshmen being able to step in and make a contribution right away with the loss of our defenders."
The Tar Heels opened the pre-season with a 1-0 win over UNC Wilmington on Saturday and will take to the road again this Saturday when they take on UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.
