The University of North Carolina athletic department has partnered with Quest Ministries in Chapel Hill to raise funds for football student-athlete Kevin Reddick, who lost all of his possessions in an apartment fire in early July.
The fire, which began just after 3 p.m. in a fourth-floor unit at Farrington Lakes apartments in Durham on July 10, quickly spread throughout the building and left 22 people displaced. Reddick was in his third-floor apartment when the fire began and thought someone was simply working on the roof. As he went to close the blinds, he saw flames flash in front of his window. He quickly grabbed his shoes and cell phone and left the building. Left behind were all of his possessions, including his clothes and furniture. Also lost were irreplaceable items like the photos of his daughter and his state championship high school ring. Reddick did not have renter's insurance.
Anyone who would like to donate funds to help replace the items lost in the fire can do so by sending a check in care of Kevin Reddick to:
Quest Ministries
29 New Rhododendron
Chapel Hill, NC 27517
Quest Ministries www.QuestNC.org will disburse the funds to Reddick up to the total amount lost in the fire.
