Three Tar Heels Selected For Senior Bowl

Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- University of North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney, safety Da'Norris Searcy and linebacker Quan Sturdivant have been selected to participate in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl. The 62nd game is scheduled for 4 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, January 29, in Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.
North Carolina tied for the lead among ACC teams with three representatives in the annual senior showcase event.
Burney started 44 career games at UNC and had 11 interceptions, which ranks seventh all-time at UNC. He finished his career with 358 interception return yards, which ranks second all-time in the ACC. In 2010, he had 30 tackles and two interceptions.
Searcy had his most productive season as a senior in 2010 with 37 tackles and a team-high four interceptions. The Decatur, Ga., native also was UNC's top kick returner over the last two seasons.
Despite missing five games with a hamstring injury, Sturdivant finished third on the team with 61 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for losses. On his final collegiate play, he intercepted a Tennessee pass in the second overtime of Carolina's 30-27 Music City Bowl victory.
