Carolina has had 24 1,000-yard rushing seasons from 14 different players. If Bernard tops 1,000 yards against NC State, he will achieve the mark in the 10th game of the season. The last UNC player to accomplish the feat in the 10th game of the season was Natrone Means in 1992.

Bernard's final rush against the Deacons was a 54-yarder that set up UNC's final touchdown. It was his third 50-plus yard gain this year (also had a 60-yarder against Rutgers and a 55-yarder vs. Georgia Tech).
