Fox Honored By Indiana Hall Of Fame

NEW CASTLE, IN - Former North Carolina and NBA star Rick Fox is among eighteen men named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2012 Silver Anniversary Team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
The team includes nine members of the 1987 Indiana All-Star squad. Nine other all-state players are included to recognize the top of Indiana's high school class of 1987.
Three members of the 1987 state champion Marion Giants are among the selections.
1987 Indiana All-Stars include Fox, Lyndon Jones, Jimmy Apple, Dave Barrett, Jerry Coleman, Jerome Harmon, Daric Keys, Kyle Persinger, and John Wilczynski.
The remaining eight, named to various all-state teams are: Bryan Clements, Marty Collier, Rod Creech, Keith Gailes, Jeff Robbins, Scott Roberts, Ron Rutland, John Shoup and Isaac Washington.

Rick Fox - Warsaw
1987 Indiana All-Star. Did not play 1987 due to IHSAA eligibility ruling. In his sophomore and junior seasons, scored 824 points (16.0 ppg) and grabbed 498 rebounds. Warsaw teams were 44-7, won two South Bend Holiday Tournaments, two sectionals, one regional, lost in 1985 in semi-state to eventual champ Marion in which Fox scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. He averaged 12 points and eight rebounds as a sophomore and 21 points and 11.8 rebounds as a junior. He was a member of Nike's "Dream Dozen" All-American team and participated in Derby Classic. He played 140 games at the University of North Carolina (6th on their all-time list), scored 1,703 points (17th), and his 197 steals is 3rd in school history. He was the 1991 MVP of NCAA East Regional and ACC Tournament, led the team in scoring and steals, was 1st team all-ACC and was 3rd team All-American by The Sporting News. Was 1st round pick (#24 overall) of Boston Celtics in 1991 NBA Draft. In 12 years in NBA, he scored 8,966 points, 3,517 rebounds and 2,649 assists. He won three NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. Rick is now an actor, director and producer in Los Angeles, California. He has two children.
