North Carolina To Host NCAA Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina reached the 45 win mark for the seventh time in school history and as a result was named one of 16 NCAA Regional hosts for the 2011 NCAA Baseball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday.
The Tar Heels (45-14) will host a regional for the sixth time in school history and fifth time in the last six years. They will find out who join them next weekend at Boshamer Stadium when the 64-team field is announced on ESPN's selection show at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
Play begins Friday, June 3, and runs through Sunday, June 5. A seventh game will be played Monday, June 6, if needed.
All-session tickets are available during an exclusive presale to supporters of the baseball program. Should tickets remain after the presale, all session regional packages will go on sale to the general public at 8:00 pm Tuesday May 31st.
The priority deadline to request tickets is Tuesday, May 31st at 5:00 pm. Qualifying presale groups include Active Rams Club Members, Season and Mini Season ticket holders, Members of the Diamond Heels, as well as UNC Students and Faculty Staff.

A complete schedule for the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional will be announced Monday.
Carolina was 31-3 in the friendly confines of Boshamer Stadium this season with series sweeps of fellow regional hosts Virginia and Clemson. Since 2006, the Tar Heels are 12-0 in regional play as the host institution.
