Moran Named ABCA All-America

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Freshman Colin Moran garnered another All-America honor this week as he was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America Second Team for his performance during the 2011 season.
Moran finished his initial campaign with a team-leading .335 average to go along with 46 runs scored, 20 doubles, nine home runs and a team-high 71 RBI. He became the second freshman in school history to reach 70 RBI as he joined Dustin Ackley.
Moran earned a chance at an All-America honor thanks to picking up ABCA All-Atlantic Region First Team honors. Junior shortstop Levi Michael was named the All-Atlantic Region Second Team.
Michael posted a .289 average with 70 hits, 48 RBI while drawing a team-high 49 walks in 65 games.
