Former Tar Heel and current Houston Dynamo Corey Ashe was named to the Major League Soccer All-Star Team earlier this week as he will be a part of the 22-player roster that will take on Manchester United July 27 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.
Ashe is a five-year veteran of the MLS, all with the Dynamo as he has emerged as the starting left back. He opened the season in the midfield, his position the first four years of his professional career, before shifting to defense and has played nearly 1,500 minutes this season.
The all-star selection is the first of Ashe's career and comes on the heels of anchoring a defense ranked in the top half of the league.
