Men's Tennis Opens Season At Fab Four Invite

CARY, N.C. - The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will begin its 2011-12 season this weekend when it competes in the Duke Fab Four Invite at Cary, N.C. Action runs Friday through Sunday. Four Tar Heels -- Jose Hernandez, Brennan Boyajian, Oystein Steiro and Esben Hess-Olesen -- will be in the competition.
Following is a rundown of UNC's competitors and their draws for first round play on Friday.
Section A Men's Singles -- Oystein Steiro (UNC) vs. Andrew Carter (Louisville), 2:30 p.m.
Section B Men's Singles -- Jose Hernandez (UNC) vs. Cameron Silverman (Elon), 2:30 p.m.
Section C Men's Singles -- Esben Hess-Olesen (UNC) vs. Michael Thompson (Alabama), 2:30 p.m.; Brennan Boyajian (UNC) vs. Patrick O'Keefe (Radford), 2:30 p.m.
Section A Men's Doubles -- Boyajian/Hernandez (UNC) vs. Rossi/Jha (Kentucky), 10 a.m.
Section C Men's Doubles -- Steiro/Hess-Olesen (UNC) vs. Ghirskey/Hoogland (William & Mary), 10 a.m.
