Navy Holds On For A 4-3 Win On Thursday

Chapel Hill, N.C.- The Navy squad broke open a 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh, then held on for a 4-3 win over Blue in a nine-inning scrimmage at Boshamer Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Cody Stubbs lead off the fourth inning with a massive home run to right that gave Blue an early 1-0 lead. After Navy tied the game up with a run in the fifth, they came back with three more in the top of the seventh. Doubles by Shell McCain, Jacob Stallings and Seth Baldwin highlighted the inning.
lue came back with single runs in both the seventh and eighth for the final 4-3 margin.
The next closed scrimmage will be this Friday afternoon at the Bosh. Carolina is also scheduled to scrimmage on Saturday. TarHeelBlue will have exclusive coverage of all of Carolina's scrimmages.
The always-fun Fall World Series will begin on Monday, Oct. 10. There will be two best-of-three series. If a different squad each wins a series there will be a one game final for the title. All FWS games are free and open to the public.
