Jan. 27, 2012
The Tar Heels will host William & Mary in their home opener Sunday at 2:00 in Carmichael Arena. UNC is 5-0 after a win in their first meet of the season at the Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
Coach Derek Galvin is excited to be back in Chapel Hill to showcase his team. "Team training has been going very well recently. The gymnasts are eager and excited to be competing at home this weekend in front of their friends and fans," Galvin said. "This is unquestionably one of the most talented gymnastics teams we have had here at Carolina to date, and I am really looking forward to sharing their talent with all our Tar Heel fans."
Senior Morgan Evans is currently ranked first in the country on the uneven bars, after scoring a 9.925 at George Washington. She looks to lead her team against William & Mary, as she scored a 39.050 all-around last year against the Tribe, and won the bars and beam events.
Coach Galvin is also encouraging fans to come out to the meet, as the team will host their annual Blue & Pink Meet. Get REAL & HEEL is an After Care Breast Cancer Program based here at UNC. A Breast Cancer Awareness Health Fair will be hosted in the concourse area of Carmichael Arena prior to the gymnastics meet. We encourage everyone to come early to the Health Fair between 12:30 and 2:00, and then join the gymnasts for their meet at 2:00pm. Galvin tells Tar Heels to "wear your Carolina Blue and/or Pink, and it will indeed be a great day to be a Tar Heel!"

Public parking will be available in Cobb Deck, the Raleigh Road Lot, the School of Government Deck and the Bell Tower Deck Sunday.
The meet will be streamed live on TarHeelBlue.com.
