Preview: Tar Heels Face George Washington Friday

North Carolina will face George Washington Friday in the second meeting of the season between the two schools. They first met in the Lindsey Ferris Invitational hosted by George Washington, where the Heels took first place with a 192.650, edging out the Colonials, who came in second at 190.325.
In their first meeting, sophomore Kristin Aloi was top on vault with a 9.775. On uneven bars, senior Morgan Evans won first with her high score of the year, 9.925, and senior Zoya Johnson was second at 9.825.
Carolina, at 9-1 on the season, has placed first in the all-around competition in each meet since the Invitational. Junior Elizabeth Durkac has won the title twice, and was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season. She won the all-around in the meet against Temple, earning a 39.225. She also took first on uneven bars and beam, scoring 9.850 on each apparatus.
The meet is 7:00 Friday in Carmichael Arena, and admission is free to the public. It will be streamed live on TarHeelBlue.com.
