Tar Heels Will Hold Silent Auction Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- The University of North Carolina softball team will conduct a silent auction this Saturday, April 14, for a UNC team softball helmet during the doubleheader against NC State at Anderson Stadium in conjunction with its Fourth Annual Strikeout Cancer Event. The helmet is signed by NFCA Hall of Fame inductee and Tar Heel head coach, Donna J. Papa.
Carolina t-shirts will also be sold for $25 apiece during Saturday's doubleheader as well as on Sunday, April 15, during the series' finale with the Wolfpack. All proceeds from the silent auction as well as t-shirts sales will go to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in Jamie Shaver Mayberry's name to treat ovarian cancer.
