Tar Heels Sign With NFL Teams

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Several University of North Carolina undrafted football players have reportedly signed either free agent contracts or have tryouts scheduled with NFL teams.
Among those confirmed to have signed a free agent contract are safety Matt Merletti with Indianapolis, cornerback Charles Brown with Baltimore and center Cam Holland with Kansas City. Indianapolis, Baltimore and Kansas City have confirmed the signings on their official team websites. According to the Pioneer Press, defensive tackle Tydreke Powell has signed with Minnesota.
Wide receiver Dwight Jones has also reportedly signed with Houston, where he will be teammed with former Tar Heel quarterback T.J. Yates.
In recent days, news has surfaced that defensive tackle Jordan Nix and safety Jonathan Smith have a deal in place with Tampa Bay and Ryan Houston has earned a tryout with the New York Giants.
