Top-Seeded Carolina Set To Host ACC Tournament

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- With the final regular season series completed Sunday, No. 21 North Carolina (40-12, 13-4 ACC) clinched the regular season championship and the bracket for the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship is set. The three-day event begins Thursday, May 10, and concludes Saturday, May 12. Carolina will host the event at Anderson Stadium in Chapel Hill and will enter as the No. 1 seed after wrapping up its first regular season title since 2008 and fourth overall.
Fans unable to attend the tournament can follow all the action as all seven games will be televised. Thursday's and Friday's games will be split between the league's regional sports network and ESPN3, and the championship game on Saturday will be on ESPN. Live statistics will be available throughout the event on the ACC Championship Site.
The Tar Heels open ACC Tournament play on Thursday, May 10, with a 5 p.m. game against eight-seeded Boston College. The winner of that game would advance to face the winner of Maryland vs. Virginia Tech in the semifinals Friday at 3:30 p.m.
