Heels Grab Two Titles At Duke Fab Four

CARY, N.C. - The North Carolina women's tennis finished claimed doubles titles in the Black and Blue draws at the Duke Fab Four Invitational Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park. Caroline Price and Lauren McHale bested teammates Laura Slater and Gina Suarez-Malaguti in the Blue draw final, 8-4, while the freshman duo of Ashley Dai and Whitney Kay topped Alabama's Mary Anne Macfarlane and Maya Jansen, 8-6, to take the Black Draw.
In singles action, Kay and Suarez-Malaguti each won a pair of matches to advance to the Black draw final. Kay's path to the final included a win over No. 17 Cristina Stancu of Texas A&M, 7-6 (7), 6-1. Zoe De Bruycker went 1-1 on the day and will face Duke's Mary Clayton Sunday for third place in the Blue draw. In the White draw, Dai will face Purdue's Daniela Vidal in the consolation final.
Play concludes Sunday with singles finals as well as a number of consolation matches.
