Heels Hold Thursday Scrimmage

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Navy squad erupted for five runs in the fifth inning to key a 6-4 win over Blue on Thursday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Blue took an early 2-0 lead in the first. Chaz Frank lead off with a double, the Landon Lassiter drove him home with a single. Another run scored on a ground out to first with a man on third.
After scoring a run in the third, Navy plated five in the fifth, aided by two throwing errors on bunts. The inning featured doubles by Grayson Atwood and Cody Stubbs.
Blue pulled to within 6-4 in the bottom of the eighth and had the bases loaded with one out but could not score again.
Carolina used six pitchers on Thursday: Hobbs Johnson, Shane Taylor, Chris Munnelly, Chris O'Brien, Trevor Kelley and Mason McCullough.
The Tar Heels will scrimmage on Friday and Saturday, with Saturday's noon scrimmage open to the public.
