Campbell Earns Academic All-District Honor

A business administration major from Greensboro, N.C., Campbell has started all 14 matches this season for the Tar Heels (6-3-5) at center back. He has been vital to a defense that has allowed an ACC-low nine goals this season and ranks eighth nationally, giving up just 0.59 goals per game.
Campbell earned Freshman All-America honors last season and also was named to the 2012 All-ACC Academic Team, ACC All-Freshman Team and All-ACC Tournament Team. A starter in every game since he arrived at UNC, he has earned ACC Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List honors and carries a 3.93 grade point average.
Other players named to the 2013 NCAA DI Men's Soccer All-District 3 team are Charlotte's Tyler Gibson, Elon's Nathan Dean and Jason Waterman, Duke's Sean Davis and Nat Eggleston, Radford's Stephen Hudgens, Memphis' Austin Stone and Mark Sherron, William & Mary's Will Smith and UNC-Asheville's Bobby Castro. The team was selected by position and Campbell joined Smith, Eggleston and Stone as the four defenders honored.
No. 17 UNC plays a crucial ACC match at No. 11 Virginia Friday night. The game will be televised on the ACC Digital Network.
