Robinson starred for the Tar Heels in the 1996 season before returning to action from 1998-2000. Robinson was a second team All-ACC selection as a senior in 2000 when the Tar Heels claimed the ACC tournament title and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals.
The San Jose Earthquakes tabbed Robinson with the 20th overall selection in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft. He made 70 appearances with the Earthquakes from 2001-05 before the franchise moved to Houston and became the Dynamo.
Robinson has been a fixture with the Dyanmo ever since as he made 96 appearances with the club before he retired following the 2011 season. He has recently moved into a broadcaster's role with the club.
