GoHeels.com is highlighting each Carolina softball player throughout the 2013 season. Today's Carolina softball Tar Heel Spotlight is with Ashley Bone, a junior pitcher from Rocky Mount, N.C.
GoHeels.com: What is the best memory of your softball career so far?
Ashley Bone: The best memory of my softball career is when we played NC State on my mother's birthday last year. I pitched the entire game and we won! Momma Bone said it was the best birthday present she had ever received.
GH: How did you get started playing softball?
AB: I started playing t-ball when I was 6 and my parents transitioned me into softball when I was 7.
GH: Why Carolina?
AB: For the combination of prestigious academic and athletic tradition as well as the historic beauty of the campus.
GH: What is your favorite class this semester?
AB: My favorite class this semester is HIST 367: North Carolina History After 1865. I love learning about historical people and events that developed my favorite state in the US through the ever-changing social, political, and economic facets of life.
GH: What is your dream profession?
AB: Occupational Therapist
GH: What is your favorite pre-game meal?
AB: My favorite pre-game meal is the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad at Panera. Mmmmm
GH: What is your walk-up song?
AB: "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood
GH: If you played another sport, what would it be?
AB: If I played another sport it would be dodgeball... recess style.
