UNC To Host Three Midweek Games

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina will host three midweek games this week as part of the Tar Heels' 10-game homestand at Anderson Stadium.
The Tar Heels will play Appalachian State on Tuesday at 5 p.m., and face James Madison for a doubleheader at 4 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Game Promotions
- Tuesday night is Country Night at Anderson, and UNC head football coach Larry Fedora will be tossing the first pitch.
- Wednesday night will be 70s Night. Cadence A Capella will be singing the national anthem, and first pitches will be tossed by Woody Durham for Game 1 and UNC head women's soccer coach Anson Dorrance for Game 2.
Coming into the Game
North Carolina is 25-13 overall and 6-3 in the ACC. The Tar Heels are 13-1 at home this season, dropping their first game at Anderson Stadium just this past weekend. Appalachian State is 15-11 (9-3, Southern) and James Madison is 24-6 (6-0, CAA).
Last Outing
Carolina went 3-1 last week, shutting out Campbell 3-0 on the road before taking the series against Virginia Tech 2-1 at home this past weekend. App State swept the series against College of Charleston this weekend, and JMU swept Drexel with three run-ruled games.
Top Tar Heels
Constance Orr leads the Tar Heels, batting .343 with 33 RBIs on 37 hits, including a team high nine home runs. Haleigh Dickey (.349) has 26 RBIs on 37 hits, seven of which are homers. Kristen Brown is batting .327, with 16 RBIs on 34 hits, while Erin Satterfield (.304) has scored 27 runs on 28 hits.
In the circle, Lori Spingola (15-10) has an ERA of 2.70, with 173 strikeouts tallied. Ashley Bone (2.87) is 6-2 with 32 strikeouts in 39 innings.
Scouting Appalachian State
The Tar Heels are 26-12 against ASU, winning their 2010 contest 6-2. The Mountaineers are led by Allie Cashion, batting .403 with 23 RBIs and 17 runs on 29 hits. Sarah Warnock (.372) has crossed home plate 24 times on 35 hits, and Lindsay Loudermilk (.354) has 27 RBIs on 29 hits.
App State splits time between Alissa Schoelkopf (3.97 ERA) and Shivaun Landeros (3.90 ERA), with Schoelkopf (9-6) recording 84 strikeouts and Landeros (6-4) notching 34.
Scouting James Madison
UNC is 4-0 all-time against JMU, also last facing the Dukes in 2010 for an 8-0 victory. Sarah Mooney (.414) leads JMU with 34 RBIs and 24 runs on 36 hits, while stealing nine bags on 11 attempts. Erica Field (.373) has 23 RBIs and 19 runs on 38 hits, while stealing all nine attempted bases.
Jasmine Butler (.367) leads the Dukes' speedy base runners, stealing 26 of 27 bases this season while scoring 27 runs on 36 hits. Jailyn Ford (12-1) leads the JMU pitchers with an ERA of 1.46 and 121 strikeouts.
