Jon Richardson (UNC '82) Passes Away

The Panthers said Jon Richardson died Tuesday following a lengthy fight against cancer. He was 53. He previously served as president of the team's stadium.
In a statement, the Panthers called Richardson "a great friend of many people throughout the organization" and said he played "an integral role in the history of the Panthers" in the construction of Bank of America Stadium.
Richardson was president of Panthers Stadium LLC from its inception in 1994 until his resignation in 2009.
He played college football at North Carolina in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was the Tar Heels' leading receiver in 1981 with 28 catches for 373 yards and one touchdown. He finished his career with 48 catches for 657 yards and three touchdowns.
