Tar Heels Hold Thursday Scrimmage

Chapel Hill --- Tom Zengel's two-run single in the bottom of the fourth broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Blue squad the lead for good on Thursday afternoon at Boshaer Stadium.
Blue took a 2-0 lead on single runs in the first and third before Navy tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the fourth. Blue added runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to win the 6 1/2 inning scrimmage by a 6-2 margin.
Six pitchers threw in the scrimmage: Thomas Rogers, Chris O'Brien, A.J. Bogucki, Spencer Trayner, Mason McCullough and Jack Geraghty.
Carolina will hold closed scrimmages on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
