Durant Named CFL Player of the Month

TORONTO - Darian Durant (UNC '06), Chip Cox, Chris Milo and Marc-Olivier Brouillette were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Month for August, the Canadian Football League announced Friday.
The monthly award includes all games played from week 6 to week 10.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Darian Durant QB - Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant was named the Offensive Player of the Month for August. During the second month of the season, Durant passed for 1,177 yards, completed 86-of-129 (66.7%) passes and had nine touchdowns passes and only one interception. Durant saved his best performance during the Labour Day Weekend against the Roughriders rivals, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In the game, He threw for 315 yards on 24-of-35 passing and threw four touchdowns. In the games between Week 6 and a Week 10 the Roughriders went 3-1 and are first in the CFL and West Division.
Durant also had nine rushes for 94 yards this season and is on pace to have career-highs in touchdown passes, QB Rating and career-low in interceptions.
Durant leads the CFL this season in touchdown passes (21) and is fourth in passing yards with 2,198.
