CHAPEL HILL --- Former North Carolina football letterman and current Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen will join Major Leaguers Adam Warren and Rob Wooten as speakers at the 2014 First Pitch Dinner. Christensen, who spent two seasons in Chapel Hill after earning All-America honors at quarterback at Fresno City Junior College in 1975 and was a classmate of UNC head coach Mike Fox, recently completed his 12th season with the Colts.
Christensen, who is also active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, began his NFL coaching career with Tampa Bay in 1996. He spent six seasons with the Buccaneers before joining the Colts as their wide receivers coach in 2002. While overseeing the wide receivers for his first six seasons in Indianapolis, Christensen sent at least one player from his position group to the Pro Bowl each year, including Marvin Harrison (2002-06) and Reggie Wayne (2006-09).
Christensen has also served as the Colts' assistant head coach and offensive coordinator during his time in Indianapolis, and has helped mentor quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Prior to coming to the NFL, Christensen had college coaching stops at Ole Miss, East Tennessee State, Temple, East Carolina, Holy Cross, South Carolina, Maryland and Clemson. A native of Los Angeles, Christensen and his wife, Debbie, have three daughters, Rachel, Rebecca and Ruth.
