January 21, 2014 | Softball
GoHeels.com will be spotlighting each member of the Carolina softball team throughout the season. Today, read more on Amy Nece a senior outfielder from Redlands, Calif.
1. What does it mean to be a student athlete at North Carolina?
It's a privilege to play for North Carolina because as soon as you put on the jersey, you become part of such a tight-knit community and are able to honor every athlete that has came before you at this prestigious university.
2. What is your favorite thing about playing for UNC softball?
My favorite part about playing is definitely all the road trips I get to take with my 23 sisters. Every road trip is an adventure.
3. What did you take away from working with The Program during preseason?
I learned accountability of each team member and how a person can lead through any adversity and succeed even if they are forced to lead through a task that is not their strong suit.
4. How do you like to spend your free time outside of class and softball?
I love to shop :]
5. Fun fact - what is something most people don't know about you?
Most people don't know that I am a quarter Japanese (well besides my close friends).
6. If you could go to dinner with a famous person, who would it be?
If I could go to dinner with anyone I would chose Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. My twin sister and I have always been obsessed with them and it would be a dream to meet them. I would take advantage of the situation and go to dinner at Ladurée in Paris, France.
7. What is your greatest strength as a softball player?
I think my greatest strength as a softball player is my enthusiasm and hype that I bring to the field.
