Tar Heels In The NFL - Week Four
October 2, 2014 | Football
Ebron scores first touchdown
Detroit Lions rookie tight end Eric Ebron scored his first career NFL touchdown Sunday afternoon in the team's 24-17 win over the New York Jets. Ebron's score came on a seam pass that quarterback Matthew Stafford threw perfectly to the tight end's back shoulder, and the former Tar Heel was able to finish the play for six points.
After the game, Ebron was really excited about his first touchdown. Via Michael Rothstein of ESPNNewYork.com, Ebron said "It was just a blessing, man. Obviously it was meant to happen, it was meant to be. It happened, and I couldn't ask for anything more. I couldn't ask for a better throw or a better play call."

Bruce Carter injured
Bad news out of Dallas Sunday night as linebacker Bruce Carter injured his quad while trying to chase down New Orleans Saints running back Khiry Robinson in the fourth quarter. It's very unfortunate timing for Carter and the Cowboys, because Carter has been an impact player for the team so far this season. Last week, he ran back an interception to seal a Dallas win over St. Louis, and this week he made a great play to tip a Drew Brees pass into the air that allowed fellow linebacker Justin Durant to pick it off. So far this season, Carter is a big reason why Dallas is off to an impressive 3-1 start. James Hurst makes first NFL start
Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle was thrust into the starting lineup this week against the Carolina Panthers after the team's starting left tackle Eugene Monroe had one surgery. Hurst and the rest of the Ravens offensive line was outstanding Sunday afternoon as they controlled the line of scrimmage the entire day and kept the talented Panthers defensive line away from on quarterback Joe Flacco. Peppers makes return to Chicago
Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Julius Peppers made his return to the Windy City Sunday afternoon to take on his former team, the Chicago Bears. Peppers recorded two tackles in the Packers' 38-17 win.
