Schneider, Murray Fall in ITA Singles Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. - North Carolina sophomores Ronnie Schneider and Jack Murray were both ousted in the first round of the ITA All-American Championships singles main draw by nationally ranked opponents on Thursday at Case Tennis Center.
The 23rd-ranked Schneider fell to Drake's 37th-ranked Alen Salibasic 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 in a hard-fought three-setter. Murray, who navigated through both the pre-qualifying and qualifying draws for an opportunity to play Thursday, suffered a 6-4, 6-3 defeat to Harvard's 18th-ranked Denis Nguyen (9-16).
Schneider and Murray will now move on to the singles consolation draw. The consolation draw winner will earn a berth to the ITA Individual Indoors, which will be held Nov. 6-9 in Flushing Meadow, N.Y.
