Blue Wins Sunday's FWS Game

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The Blue team jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings and cruised to a 7-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The win gives Blue a sweep of this weekend's games.
Alex Raburn scored from second on a failed pick-off attempt at first in the first to give Blue an early 1-0 lead. Zack Gahagan's two-run single in the third put Blue up 3-0. Gahagan would later score on an outfield error for a 4-0 lead before Michael Massardo's double drove in Elijah Sutherland for a 5-0 lead.
Blue upped their lead to 7-0 in the fifth on Adrian Chacon's two-run single. Navy scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth when Ryder Ryan grounded into a fielder's choice to plate Josh Merrigan.
Jason Morgan picked up the win by giving up one run on five hits while striking out four in 6.0 innings on the mound. Hansen Butler suffered the loss for Navy. Spencer Trayner hurled three inning for Navy, while A.J. Bogucki closed things out for Blue in the seventh and final inning.
Michael Massardo, who was 2-4 at the plate including a double, was the only player with more than one base hit. Josh Merrigan also had a double.
The Fall World Series will resume on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium.
