Schnur Moves On to Semifinals at USTA/ITA National Indoors

FLUSHING MEADOW, N.Y. – North Carolina sophomore Brayden Schnur picked up two straight-set wins on his way to the semifinal round of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championships on Friday at the USTA Billie Jean National King Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The seventh-ranked Schnur, a native of Pickering, Ontario, knocked out Virginia Tech's No. 14 Amerigo Contini 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16 before earning a 6-4, 7-6(0) triumph over Virginia's No. 80 Thai-Son Kwiatkowski in the quarterfinals.
Carolina sophomore Ronnie Schneider saw his run end in the quarterfinals, where he dropped a tough match to Vanderbilt's ninth-ranked Gonzales Austin in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-2). Earlier in the day, Schneider rolled past Southern California's 39th-ranked Jonny Wang 6-4, 6-4 in the Round of 16.
