UNC Sweeps Weekly ACC WBB Awards

DeShields, who was also named ESPNW's National Player of the Week, averaged 29 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game with a .541 field goal percentage last week as North Carolina picked up three ACC wins, including road wins at No. 3 Duke and No. 10 NC State.
The Norcross, Ga., native began the week with a 30-point effort in an 89-78 upset of the No. 3 Blue Devils, becoming the first player to score 30 points against Duke since 2009. DeShields capped the week with a North Carolina freshman record 38 points in the Tar Heels' 89-82 win at No. 10 NC State on Feb. 16, while mixed in-between was a 19-point, six-rebound performance in an 86-50 win against Pitt on Feb. 13.
Gray averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 56.8 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Sandersville, Ga., native posted 24 points and 10 rebounds at Duke. Gray contributed 21 points against Pittsburgh and finished the week with 18 points, on 5-of-7 shooting from long distance, in the win at NC State.
Gray earns her third Rookie of the Week honor this season.
In other news, Carolina jumped six places to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press poll on Monday.
