• Carolina swept Maryland last season in Chapel Hill, and won two of three in 2012 in College Park.

WEEKEND ROTATION HAS BEEN STELLAR
• Despite losing 2013 ACC Pitcher of the Year Kent Emanuel and MLB Draft pick Hobbs Johnson from last year's rotation, Carolina has been outstanding on the mound in weekend series.
• Carolina's three starters - RHP Trent Thornton, RHP Benton Moss and RHP Zac Gallen - have combined to go 7-3 with an ERA of 2.55 in 81.3 innings. The three right-handers have walked just 16 batters against 74 strikeouts, lead by Moss' 25/4 K/BB ratio.
• Opponents have just five extra-base hits against the trio, and all three starters are in the top 7 in the league in innings pitched despite only three starts exceeding 100 pitches.
