Watts Leads UNC's All-EAGL Selections

BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Haley Watts led a contigent of five Tar Heels named to the 2014 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League first and second teams, announced Monday afternoon. Watts earned first-team in the all-around competiton and on uneven bars, and was a second-team performer on vault and floor exercise.
Watts was joined on the first team by junior Janell Sargent on balance beam and freshman Megan Marenghi on bars. Sophomore Lexi Cappalli earned first-team honors on floor exercise and second-team in the all-around. Senior Acacia Cosentino earned second-team recognition on the uneven bars.
First team All-EAGL on each event and in the all-around includes the top eight ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the 10-week regular season. The rankings are based on the gymnasts' regional qualifying score (RQS). Second team All-EAGL on each event and in the all-around includes No. 9 - No. 16 ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the regular season. Final rankings from the 2014 regular season were released on Monday, March 17th.
The Tar Heels will head to the EAGL Championships on March 22, hosted by the University of New Hampshire.
