UNC Hosts Maryland In Final ACC Series With Terrapins

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina will host Maryland this weekend in what will be the teams' final ACC series matchup.
Admission is free for all three games. Saturday is Military Appreciation Day at Anderson Stadium, and Jamey Slife of The Program will be throwing the first pitch in Saturday's 1 p.m. game. Other promotions this weekend include team autograph session after game two on Saturday, and kids can run the bases after Sunday's game.

Scouting the Matchup
Carolina is 38-18 all-time vs. the Terps, but UM took the series last year 2-1 in College Park.
North Carolina - UNC is led by Aquilla Mateen, who is batting .423 with 30 hits and 18 runs. Jenna Kelly (.338) has 19 RBIs and 26 hits, which include six homers and seven doubles, and Kristen Brown (.296) has 23 RBIs on 20 hits, including seven homers and six doubles.
Lori Spingola (9-6) recently set a new UNC career record for wins, surpassing Crystal Cox's 96 victories (2003-06). Spingola has posted a 2.69 ERA in 18 appearances, tallying 91 strikeouts this season.Lauren Batten is 3-2 (4.30 ERA), and Ashley Bone is 1-0 (2.92 ERA).
Maryland - Lindsey Scheiser leads Maryland with a .309 average at the plate, posting 14 RBIs and eight runs, while Shannon Bustillo (.293) has 10 RBIs and five runs. In the circle, Kaitlyn Schmeiser is 1-7 (5.90 ERA) with 52 strikeouts, and Brenna Nation is 0-9 with a 4.83 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
