Schnur & Vick Reap Impressive Honors at RAMMYS

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of University of North Carolina men's tennis players were amongst the big winners at the 2014 RAMMY Awards which were held Monday night, April 14 at Memorial Hall.
The Atlantic Coast Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes the senior male and female who are the most outstanding academically in their classes. One is awarded for women and one for men. Winners were Michelle Ikoma (gymnastics) and Nelson Vick (men's tennis). Vick is a senior from Grafton, Wis., who is a co-captain of the No.-8 ranked Tar Heel men's team. He will attend medical school next year.
Freshman Brayden Schnur of Pickering, Ontario, Canada was named the winner of the 2013-14 top make newcomer at the 2014 RAMMYS from a distinguished field of nominees. Schnur is ranked 10th nationally in singles in his maiden UNC campaign. He has helped lead Carolina to a No. 8 national ranking and a 22-3 record overall and 9-1 in the ACC. Schnur has lost only two singles matches all year and team's with Brett Clark as a member of a nationally-ranked doubles team as well.
