Golfer Leslie Cloots To Play At World Amateur Championship

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Tar Heel golfer Leslie Cloots will be participating in the World Amateur Team Championship, representing Belgium, her home country. The prestigious event begins Wednesday in Karuizawa, Japan. Play will take place at Karuizawa 72 Golf East, Iriyama and Oshitate courses. Cloots plays the Oshitate Course in the first round beginning at 7:45 a.m.
Cloots, a sophomore for the Tar Heels, was the runner-up at the 2014 British Ladies Amateur Championship this past summer. Cloots played in nine tournaments last year, including one as an individual. Her top finish came at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club where she tied for 28th place. Cloots carded a 76.65 stroke average and scored her low round of 72 three times.Players Mentioned
