UNC ENJOYS RECENT SUCCESS OVER CLEMSON
UNC has won eight-straight road games against Clemson going back to 1996-97, and the Tar Heels are 23-2 against the Tigers in the last 25 games in the series going back to 1999-00.
THAT'S WHY THEY CALL 'EM FREE THROWS
Allisha Gray's 10-for-10 effort at the free throw line against Notre Dame on Thursday is the top performance in the ACC this season.
TOP-10 IN BOTH SCORING & REBOUNDING
Allisha Gray and Wake Forest's Dearica Hamby are the only two players in the ACC that rank among the top-10 players in both scoring and rebounding this season. Gray averages 17.0 points (7th) and 7.8 rebounds (9th) per game.
TOTAL TEAM EFFORT
With the loss of All-ACC forward Xylina McDaniel, Carolina will need its bench to increase its effectiveness by scoring more points and playing additional minutes. In the last six games, the UNC reserves have averaged 28.2 points per game, out scoring its opponents by 16.2 points per game.
BUTTS INSERTED INTO STARTING 5
Senior Danielle Butts has started the last six games in place of the injured McDaniel. She has averaged 6.2 points and 7.2 rebounds. The Winterville, N.C., native had made only eight starts in her first three seasons with the Tar Heels.
J WASH STEPS UP TOO
Sophomore reserve guard Jessica Washington has averaged 10.8 points and 2.2 rebounds over the last six games. She tied her career high with 16 points against Albany and scored another 16 against Georgia Tech on Jan. 11. The Tulsa, Okla., native has been in double figures three times in the last six games, while shooting 38.5 percent (10-of-26) from beyond the arc.
