October 21, 2015 | Men's Soccer
North Carolina (12-1-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season by scoring a season-high six goals against the Camels, who fall to 5-7 on the season.
Carolina waisted no time in getting on the scoreboard in the fifth minute. Tucker Hume drew a foul and a free kick just outside the top of the 18-yard box.
Raby George's cross connected with Hume on a header. The attempt was saved by the keeper, but the rebound was punched in by Warren Marshall for a 1-0 Tar Heel lead. The goal was his first at Carolina for the junior from Clemmons, N.C.
Midway through the first half, Marshall made it a brace in the first 24 minutes when he took a rip with his left foot that made it 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
Carolina went up 3-0 in the 31st minute when reserve Nico Melo sent a brilliant cross at the touch line to the head of Hume for his team-leading seventh goal of 2015.
Carolina scored twice in the first three minutes, 12 seconds of the second half for a 5-0 advantage. Andy Lopez found the corner of the net 20 seconds into play off a feed from David October.
In the 49th minute, Melo delivered a bending shot from straight on that froze the Campbell keeper in his tracks.
Campbell got a goal midway into the second half by Bradley Farias, his team-leading 12th of the year.
Nyambi Jabang added a late goal in the final minute to make it 6-1 Tar Heels.
Carolina hosts Louisville on Friday at 5 p.m.
