November 16, 2015 | Men's Soccer
Carolina will open its 23rd NCAA postseason appearance at 6 p.m. against the winner of Coastal Carolina and North Florida. The Tar Heels played Coastal in the exhibition season, and defeated the Ospreys 2-1 back on Sept. 21 in Chapel Hill.

UNC leads the series 4-1-0 against Coastal Carolina, while the victory over UNF earlier this season was the first game between the two schools.
Carolina is a top-16 national seed for the sixth time in the last eight years, and will be making its 16th postseason appearance in the last 17 seasons. The Tar Heels have hosted one postseason match at Fetzer Field every year since 2000.
UNC, 33-18-7 in NCAA Championship action, has won the national title in 2001 and 2011, appeared in six College Cups - including four straight from 2008-2011 - and made 10 trips to the NCAA quarterfinals, most recently in 2014.
Other national seeds in UNC's quarter of the postseason bracket include No. 4 Akron, No. 12 Creighton and No. 13 Denver.
Carolina is 14-1-3 this season, winning the ACC Coastal Division with a 6-1-1 conference mark. The Tar Heels placed six players on the postseason All-ACC teams. Senior defender Jonathan Campbell earned first team honors, while midfielders Raby George and Omar Holness and forward Alan Winn landed on the second team.
Tucker Hume, who leads Carolina with 10 goals in 2015, was named third team All-ACC. Defender Alex Comsia earned All-Freshman team honors.
North Carolina is one of seven ACC clubs in the 48-team field - Wake Forest (1), Clemson (2), North Carolina (5), Syracuse (6) and Notre Dame all earned national seeds. Boston College and Virginia earned at-large bids and will play first round games on Thursday.
