December 7, 2015 | Field Hockey
North Carolina field hockey seniors Nina Notman and Emily Wold have been named to the 2015 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America first team, announced Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Junior Julia Young was named to the second team.
UNC is one of five programs with more than one player on the first team. Syracuse led all teams with three on the first team, and Carolina, UConn, Maryland and Virginia had two each on the 16-member team.
Wold earned the honor for the third time in her career, becoming the sixth player in Tar Heel program history to earn first team honors three or more times. She was named to the third team as a freshman in 2012.
Notman becomes the 35th player in program history to earn first-team All-America honors. She was named to the third team last year.
Young earned All-America honors for the first time in her career.
The three were in the Tar Heel lineup for all 24 games as UNC finished the 2015 season with a record of 21-3. Carolina won the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and finished as the NCAA runner-up.
