SENIOR DAY
North Carolina will recognize its senior class on Thursday against Virginia.
• Whitney Adams spent the last two seasons as an undergraduate assistant after being forced to the sidelines with shoulder injuries that ended her playing career. She was a member of the basketball team for two seasons, appearing in 23 games.
• Megan Buckland played in 60 games for the Tar Heels over four seasons. Her Carolina career featured a variety of injuries that limited her playing time, but when healthy, she ranked among the best three-point shooters in the ACC.
• Danielle Butts has played in 127 games and made 19 starts in her Carolina career. One of the more athletic players this program has even seen, she has accumulated 679 points, 524 rebounds and 145 steals as a Tar Heel.
• Latifah Coleman is in her fifth season with the Tar Heels and has played in 134 games. She has been the starting point guard for most of the last two years, helping guide UNC to the NCAA Elite Eight last season. Earlier this year in Hawaii, she played perhaps the best game of her career with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists in the win over fifth-ranked Stanford.
• Brittany Rountree has played in every single game in each of the last four years and tonight will be her 133rd game with the Tar Heels. A pure shooter, she is the second most accurate free throw shooter in program history, making 79 percent of her attempts from the free throw line. She also ranks 10th at Carolina with 158 three-point field goals.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
North Carolina is ranked No. 15 by the Associated Press and 11th in the coaches poll this week. Virginia is unranked.
