Tar Heels Sweep Through The Carolina Classic

Chapel Hill, N.C. – UNC closed out the last day of the 2015 Carolina Classic with a 7-0 win over the Charlotte 49ers.
Kendra Lynch collected two home runs and three RBI on the day to lead the Tar Heels. Her first blast was a two-run shot and came in second inning. She then followed up with a leadoff solo home run to start the bottom of the fifth. Amber Parrish was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded later in the inning to make it 4-0 UNC.
Kaylee Carlson started the game in the circle for the Tar Heels, pitching three scoreless innings while allowing two Charlotte hits, striking out one. Sydney Matzko would keep the shutout going and picked up the win along the way.
North Carolina would put the game away in the bottom of the sixth when Aquilla Mateen cleared the bases with a triple to make it 7-0.
The win extends the Tar Heels unbeaten streak to 10 games. They will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to USC Upstate.
