Countdown To Kickoff: Week 4

CHAPEL HILL—As the Carolina football team and Tar Heel fans continue to prepare for the 2015 opener this Thursday against South Carolina in Charlotte, GoHeels.com is prepping for the season with the Countdown to Kickoff campaign.
Each week leading into the opener, GoHeels TV has featured free replays of key Tar Heel wins from recent seasons. This week, it's the 2012 win over Virginia Tech.
Giovani Bernard had a career day in the 48-34 win over Virginia Tech in Kenan Stadium on Oct. 6, 2012, outrushing the Hokies twice on just one carry. Bernard rushed for 262 yards while Tech had only 40 yards rushing as a team. Bernard had carries of 51 and 62 yards.
Overall, the Tar Heels piled up 533 total yards in posting their first win over the Hokies in Chapel Hill since 1938.
