Women's Golf Travels To Cougar Classic
October 1, 2016 | Women's Golf
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The University of North Carolina women's golf team will compete in the Cougar Classic Sunday against several quality teams. Carolina's roster will feature a different lineup than they competed with in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate.
Carolina will roll out a lineup that includes four starters from last year's NCAA Championship qualifying team. Leslie Cloots, Kelly Whaley, Lexi Harkins, and Bryana Nguyen return to the lineup. Freshman Brynn Walker will be the lone newcomer that wasn't on the team last year. Cloots will compete in her first collegiate tournament of the year after missing the Mercedes-Benz to play in the World Amateur Team Championship.
Carolina will see some familiar faces at the tournament. Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, NC State and Wake Forest are in the field.
Carolina finished tied for 12th at the Cougar Classic last year. The Yeamans Hall course features a par 72, 6,224-yard layout. Live results can be found on Golfstat.com. A recap of performances and results can be found on GoHeels.com following each round.
