UNC Hosts The Citadel Saturday At Kenan

CHAPEL HILL --- After seeing its three-game win streak come to an end last Thursday in Durham, North Carolina returns to Kenan Stadium for a non-conference contest with The Citadel on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Carolina is ranked No. 25 in the coaches poll and is the second team receiving votes in the Associated Press poll. Saturday's game is Military Appreciation Day in Chapel Hill.
In its most recent action, Carolina lost to Duke, 28-27. The Tar Heels jumped out to a 14-0 lead behind the steady play of standout quarterback Mitch Trubisky who finished the game with 297 yards passing and three touchdowns. Tailback Elijah Hood had 75 yards rushing and a team-best 58 yards receiving. UNC was held to six points in the second half and had just two drives in the fourth quarter.
The Citadel (10-0 overall, 8-0 Southern) closed out its conference slate with a 30-20 win over VMI last Saturday. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 5 last week, are one of only two unbeaten teams in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Seven of The Citadel's 10 games have been decided by 10 points or less.

CAROLINA-CITADEL SERIES NOTES
• Carolina has won all four previous meetings with The Citadel. The most recent matchup came in 2009. The two programs also met in 1915, 1939 and 1986.
• Carolina has won 12 straight over FCS competition. UNC's last loss to an FCS team came in 1999 vs. Furman.
TRUBISKY IN THE RANKINGS
• Carolina junior Mitch Trubisky, a candidate for all the major quarterback awards, is fourth in the nation in completion percentage (70.6), sixth in total completions (247), 10th in pass efficiency rating (161.12), 10th in total yards (3,004), 12th in passing yards per game (300.4) and 16th in TD passes (22). He is fourth in the ACC and 16th in the country with 316.4 total yards of offense per game.
• Trubisky was recently named one of 18 semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien Award, which is presented annually to the best college quarterback, and is the nation's oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.
WINNING AT KENAN STADIUM
• Carolina has won 10 of the last 11 games at Kenan Stadium, including all seven games in 2015 and three of four this year. The Tar Heels close out the regular season with a two-game homestand against The Citadel and NC State (Nov. 25). Under Larry Fedora, Carolina is 24-7 (.774) at Kenan Stadium.
