No. 3 UNC Hosts No. 21 Georgia Tech In Coastal Clash

CHAPEL HILL --- No. 3 North Carolina welcomes No. 21 Georgia Tech for a key ACC Coastal Division series beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium. Carolina, which leads the division with a 5-1 record after two weekends of conference play, has won six straight games following a 10-2 win over Western Carolina Tuesday night. Georgia Tech is also coming off a league sweep. The Yellow Jackets won three at home over Virginia Tech last weekend before thumping in-state foe Kennesaw State 13-2 on Tuesday.

NORTH CAROLINA-GEORGIA TECH SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina is 59-73 all-time against Georgia Tech, including a 21-34 record against the Yellow Jackets under Mike Fox.
• UNC and Georgia Tech first met in 1901 and have played every season since the Yellow Jackets joined the ACC in 1980.
• Carolina ended a five-year series losing streak last season in Atlanta. The Tar Heels took two of three games at Russ Chandler Stadium. Korey Dunbar's ninth-inning home run lifted UNC to a 5-3 win in the opener before the team's split a Saturday doubleheader.
• Prior to last season, Carolina's last series win against Georgia Tech came in 2009, when the Tar Heels took two of three in Atlanta. UNC also won back-to-back series in Chapel Hill in 2007 and 2008.
